Mathematics
Saxon
In Saxon Math, concepts from every math strand are woven together and connected throughout the year. Skills and concepts are reinforced throughout the years, helping students build a strong foundation of understanding. Skills are introduced in an incremental approach giving students the time to understand and practice a small concept before adding the next step. Cumulative practice and assessments cover ideas from earlier lessons to ensure students retain and make connections between concepts.
Mathematics
Singapore
Singapore math method is focused on mastery, which is achieved through intentional sequencing of concepts. Some of the key features of the approach include the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, and Abstract) progression, number bonds, bar modeling, and mental math. Instead of pushing through rote memorization, students learn to think mathematically and rely on the depth of knowledge gained in previous lessons. Singapore math is a highly effective teaching approach that instills a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. They raise student performance through their thoughtfully written, beautifully designed, and evidence-based math programs.
Early Reading
IEW: Reading and Spelling Program
In the reading portion of Primary Arts of Language by IEW, students are introduced to letters through letter stories and discover the vowel and consonant pairs that help us read. Daily games played during “Activity Time” reinforce the phonetic concepts so that a student can know them completely.

Because this program does not come with readers, students will use both the Saxon Fluency Readers and Bob Books to further enforce phonetic concepts and build self-confidence in reading
Early Reading
Hooked on Phonics
Early readers will start with Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read which teaches kids the basic skills needed to become confident readers. Students will listen to phonics songs, utilize workbooks filled with activities and stories, flashcards, as well as 50 phonics books.
After completing the Learn to Read program students will graduate to the Hooked on Phonics Master Reader program. The Master Reader program teaches students to use advanced phonics skills through games, attention-grabbing stories, and the exciting Strange Museum chapter books to assist students in learning to read more fluently.

In addition to the reading already included in the Hooked on Phonics program students will also utilize both the Saxon Fluency Readers and Bob Book series to gain further practice and fluency in reading.
Early Reading
Learning Dynamics
With the Learning Dynamics 4 Weeks to Read Program, children learn letters and sounds through music and fun object lessons. As the children begin learning the letters and sounds, they are taught the blending concept and they begin reading words and books. Then their reading experience is broadened to solidify skills and build self-confidence.

Students will also use Bob Books and Saxon Fluency Readers with the Learning Dynamics 4 weeks to Read program to ensure that students are receiving adequate practice and opportunities to retain each lesson.
Readers - Books
Bob Books
Bob Books was designed to give young children the tools to cross from learning letters to reading words. The award-winning beginning reader book sets start slowly and progress from books with three-letter words, to books with more than one sentence per page. Because they meet children at their level, children are able to sound out words when reading their first Bob Book.
Readers - Books
Saxon Readers
These full-color, engaging readers, which will be used in all reading programs, provide additional reading practice for students to further develop reading fluency. Easy, average, and challenging leveled Fluency Readers provide practice for all children - from the struggling student to the more advanced. By reading smoothly with high-frequency words, children gain confidence in reading with expression and understanding. The end of each book also features literary comprehension questions to help students not only practice reading but practice early reading comprehension skills as well.
Spelling
All About Spelling
This isn’t the typical "list-on-Monday, test-on-Friday" approach! Instead, you'll find dozens of proven techniques that are guaranteed to help your student master English spelling. They will learn the sounds of the 26 letters of the alphabet, 45 common letter combinations (such as CK and IGH), and tried-and-true spelling rules.

With these tools, your student can spell the vast majority of English words. In addition, they will get solid strategies for mastering the remaining words, which we call "rule-breakers."

By Level 7, your student will be spelling at the high school level.

Composition
IEW - Theme Based Writing
IEW's unique approach provides the structure that students need to develop confidence in the writing process, while gradually guiding them toward greater independence and creativity. They will learn nine structural models (note-taking, writing paragraphs, stories, simple reports, writing from pictures, research reports, creative writing, essays, and critiques) to help them organize any type of composition. Additionally, stylistic techniques (strong verbs, quality adjectives, sentence openers, and more) are taught incrementally to gently move students from the basics into more sophisticated writing.

Grammar
Fix it! Grammar
The premise of this grammar program is to help students transfer grammatical knowledge into actual writing. This curriculum puts the students in the place of editors as they spend 15 minutes daily fixing sentences and looking up vocabulary and then re-writing these sentences into a notebook, which cumulatively form a cohesive story over the course of the program.

Grammar
Grammar Galaxy
Instead of dry exercises that have no relationship to reading, Grammar Galaxy uses short, entertaining stories to teach language arts concepts in a memorable way. The accompanying workbook is no workbook at all, but a Mission Manual asking your student to help save the galaxy from the chaos the Gremlin creates.

Author Melanie Wilson wanted to create an easy-to-use language arts curriculum children enjoy that also teaches for mastery rather than repeating the same concepts year after year. The result is the Grammar Galaxy curriculum. In spite of the title, the series covers much more than grammar, also addressing vocabulary, spelling, composition, literature, and speech.
Vocabulary
McGraw Hill Vocabulary
Each of these lessons focuses on a group of words that will strengthen your student’s vocabulary. After the introduction of new vocabulary, each lesson includes three worksheets designed to make learning new words easy and fun. This series features hundreds of essential vocabulary words, with extensive opportunities for students to learn necessary vocabulary.
Vocabulary
240 Words Kids Need to Know
A strong vocabulary is essential to scholastic success. Each lesson includes research-based activities that tap students' prior knowledge for greater understanding and give them multiple encounters with new words so they really remember them. Lesson topics include synonyms, antonyms, compound words, content area vocabulary related to key science and social studies topics, and much more.
Vocabulary
Building Words & The Learning Works
The ability to identify and define base words or roots, prefixes, and suffixes is essential to decoding unfamiliar words. These series provide students with opportunities to examine words and understand their meanings in order to improve vocabulary and fluency. This skill is also one of the national standards for students beginning at fourth grade and a skill that students will need to do well on AP and SAT/ACT exams in the future.
